Right now im trying to slow down the speed of a window motor for a display purposes, the only thing ive tried so far was a linear potentiometer 10k and that started glow right away lol.

Looking for a way to reduce the speed really doesnt have to be variable just bout half the current speed, the only thing i know about the motor so far it draws about 7A @ 13V.

Any help would be appreciated ty justin....

hi,

you need access to an adjustable dc power supply with fairly high current capability. that would let you be able to determine the voltage needed for the speed you'd like the display to operate...digi-key or mouser may be able to help. you might also try a six volt battery (sealed lead acid type or motorcycle) just to see if six volts is able to power/move the display properly. from that you may be able to find a cheaper alternative for a supply. does the display continuously operate or is it intermittent used? good luck

ty for input for the show next week were just goin to put in a PS and run it that way then after will get a pwm when we have more time ty justin
