While I'm here. Does anyone know "if" or 'how" I could put a remote start on my 1998 Mercedes C-230 with infared key" This thing has a big key like transmitter that plugs into the key socket and give some infared code to start the car. Probably too much headache to do but I thought I would ask.

i am not sure i dont do mbz's but try this site maybe they can tell you it says just a transponder but you can call to verify.

Why no MBZ installs? Just no ineterest or is there something I should know before getting a remote start and pulling out my Torx and Fluke?

get a bottle of excedrin to go with the other tools . just not worth the headache to me
