alarm is (Aladdin a2000 ) alarm remote starter. On the box says PME promise mobile electronics INC.  First time using this alarm. I have been installing for years but had never  done a diesel or 2002 f250. I have a problem with the remote start part. The doorlocks works but seem to send a signal back to the remote start er and shuts it off. That took a while to figure out. The alarm has a wire for alternator sense or tach sense which one should I use? It also has a glow plug wire?  Any tips on this diesel is greatly appreciated. thanks.  You can call if you don't want to email.  let me know.

Use the tach sense if possible. If the signal is too weak ( you will know if it's too weak if the starter stays engaged or if the start duration is very short ). Here's what we have for the 2002 F250: ** Make sure that the glow plug wire from the Ford is a POSITIVE output wire the Aladdin a-2000 only accepts (+) signal from this wire.

BTW: If the remote start shuts off after disarming the system you don't have the PINK wire connected to the P6 BLUE wire. You probably figured that out already, but I thought I would include this anyway.

Hey TTRON,

Just to add my 2 cents.  Ya can't interface to the glow plug light in the dash for the delay like the old days (last year) . . . we now have to add a 15 second timer to the glow plug line of the r-starter.

Another trick for the XLT with RAP is to use the pink ignition wire from behind the radio to click a normally closed relay open.  Put pins 30 and 85 to ground, pin 87a to glow signal to brain, 86 to pink ignition going into radio. . .

Also if your truck has keyless check to see if the GEM module goes to sleep after a few minutes meaning that you can't unlock doors from switches.   You then have to use a disarm pulse to trigg the door pin switch and set your module for double pulse unlock.

Ford provides customer access wires in that truck. You have 4 wires that are on the drivers side firewall taped to the wire harness white, blue, red, and black, they go through the firewall and are taped up under the dash. These wires are not connected to anything and save u the time of routing wires through the firewall. Under the drivers dash below and to the left of the fuse panel you will find those wires with a GREEN / WHITE wire. That wire provides a tach signal for any accessories, I used it when installing a Commando remote start on a 2002 350. Below are the ignition wires I used.

Wires are at the ignition switch harness near the bottom of the steering coloum.
Blue with Green Tracer= +12V in Accessory position Also called Accessory Wire
Green= +12V when Cranking Also Called Starter Wire
Red with Black Tracer= +12V in run position Also called Ignition 2
Red with Green Tracer= +12V in run position Also called Ingnition 1
