Hey Guys, new to the site, got a quick question. I am building a custom box that goes around a wheelwell and I was hoping to use water to calculate the volume, but I am unsure about what water weighs a cubic foot. Is this alright doing this? Thanks a ton.

Whats Up Mopar,

1  Cubic Foot  = 1,728 cubic inches

1 Gallon = 231 cubic inches

If you divide the gallon into the cubic foot, you will find that water will weigh approximatly:

7.48lbs per cubic foot

Im sorry my calculations were off..... theres 7.48 gallons of water in a cubic foot, the 7.48 gallons of water would weigh 62.4 lbs

so to correctly answer your question 1 cubic foot of water weighs 62.4 lbs

Use packing peanuts and a carboard box. Cut the cardboard box down to the desired volume and fill with packing peanuts. Then take the peanuts and dump them in the enclosure to figure out the enclosure volume.
