bonding plexiglass

Where do I buy the adhesive to bond plexiglass and what is it called. Also does the adhesive bond the plexiglass air tight or do I need some other type of material to make it air tight.

there are several other places to get such products. look in the phone book and see if there is a plexiglass supplier in your area. they will have better knowledge of the products and can get it to you cheaper. they might even be able to get you into a better product or give you some good tips to make your project work out better. im not saying select is not a good place to go. my shop get some things there. all i am saying is that there are usually local alternatives available if you look.

  Plastic welder is the best for bonding plexi you can find it at any hardware store with the epoxys I've used it on plastic parts of aircraft for years A+

both of those process will work.....dut they will not create a smooth clear corner. most plastic suppliers have a adhesive that you can use that actually melts the 2 pieces together. it is clear, doesnt cloud the corners and is air tight. it is applied witha suringe. from what i remember it isnt that costly either.

   obviosly no one here knows what plastic welder is. and since my knowledge isn't needed here I'll stop posting. sounds like audiomechanic has it covered.

a plastic welder is a great tool. but mostly they are used in a pplace where filler such as dura mix or something like it can be used to smooth it after. like to weld a dash kit or plastic panel in a dash. the reason for the plexi adhesive is to bond it chemically. it will actually melt the 2 pieces together and cannot be broke loose. they are one piece. just as if you were to bend the plexi 90 degrees.
