Door Panel Speaker Pods

Im considering building fiberglass speaker pods for my door panels, whats the best thing to construct the frame of, mdf, or since im using fiberglass can i just use cardboard and the fiberglass mat?

use mdf rings.....the glass will stick to them and will give you a sturdy base to work with.........what kind of car, what speakers, and what do you want to do exactly to the door? i mean what do you want the finished product to look like?

you dont need to make them actually rings. when i refer to a ring, it can be a circle or a shape that contours to your car panel or anything of the like. it is just the mounting base and/or flush mounting ring for the speakers or equiptment. all i meant was you need to take an mfd piece and to mount it to. it can be a thickness of as little as 1/4. you can take a piece of 1/2 inch mdf and router it to flush the speaker(s) in. other wise you can use 2 pieces of mdf to make a flush mount. doing it this way can also give you the option of putting a panel in there to cover ther screws and a grill if you want to.
