fiberglass to MDF

#1 The sub box i built sits sunken into a piece of mdf. The bottom of the box is in tire well, the top you can see. I rabbit cut the box into the mdf so it sits down in 1/4". my question. Will fiberglass stick to mdf ? I just need to add enough glass to "blend" the top of the sub box into the top of the mdf. I was thinking of drilling holes into the mdf so the glass would adhere better. Thought I would ask here before I did. any suggestions.

#2 Kittyhair. do you have to mix that with something? I thought that would save time in the blending process.

I'm just curious, how did you rise those rings for the subs? Looks like 5 gal. buckets? and what do you want your enclosure to look like in the end? I see where you want to put the fiberglass over the MDF, it should stick just fine. Good job on cutting that mdf out. I gotta do that for my trunk, one of these days when I get some money and new subs (JL12W7s).

I used PVC for the mold. (round  part) the rest I fabricated a mold out of 1'4 plywood to form the box.. What do I want it to look like in the end? GOOD but that seems so far off. I was going to carpet the whole thing in black. I want it to look clean. In fact I want everything else hid, amps, crossovers, wires ect......... After looking at the project last night I thought I could mount the sub box where it is and be able to lift out the MDF around it. That may make it easier to run the wires and service the system. What do you think? If I do that I could drop the sub enclosure down another 1/2", that would solve the feathering prob. The two  would almost line right up (top surfaces) I keep changing my mind on the end product. Never have done this before I do not know if this thing is to rough to sand and paint. The I don't know if I can cover in leather with the curves. To tell you thetruth this whole thing thing has me really *ucking frustrated. I want a simple custom look and to be able to say "I built it" Thanks for the reply. Scott
