I have been reading some of the posts that are listed as "Topic closed "in referance to motorola kits and the igniton wire being energized through cranking.

I have been installing cellular since the briefcase in the trunk days, you seasoned installers know what i mean. Motorola, since the Microtac days has allways required a " on through cranking" not a drop out durring crank. the reason for this is that the power surges the control boxs and damages them

Someone also said to just hook it all "hot all the time." There is no reason to. If you are on a call and you key off the call stays until you hit end and then the "car settings" menu takes over.

auto answer-answer after certainamount of rings

auto h/f- when phone goes in the cradle it switches to "loud" detail

power off delay-- how long the phone stays on after key is off

charge timer-- how long the phone charges after the keyis off and phone powers off

At any time you have the power "on" on a motorola phone you can drop it in the cradle and use the kit(as long as there is hot and ground)

i did notice that the blutooth kits are only "ignition sense" type, similar to nokia.(even a low level ignition can trigger the kit)

Thankyou to everyone who contributes to this forum. I hope that I can help someone out for all the help that i have been given from others knowlege in the past.
