It is the power in which your amps or speaker are able to play at optimum continuously in a musical session. Peak power on the other hand the peak power your amps and speaker are able to perform during a short musical burst.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.Power -- posted image.

RMS is the power rating you should probably pay most attention to. Your amps continuous power should match your speaker(s) continuous power. Speaker "A" could be 400 watt peak and 200 watt rms, while speaker "B" could be 800 watt peak and only 100 watt rms. I would prefer speaker "A". Make any sense?
