amp is jumping into protection mode ever

can somebody out there please help me figure out my problem please my amp was handling fine but now it keeps jumping in to protection mode [amp-soundstream480watts 4channels] sub-10inaudiobahn 4ohmdvc] whats happening?

check the coils of the subwoofer and all electrical connections.

Disconnect everything from the amp except the power ground and remote wire. Use a meter to verify that the amp is getting proper voltage on the power and remote wire. When checking this, you need to hold the black lead of the meter to the ground terminal of the amp, not to the chassis of the car. If voltage is good and the protect light is still coming on with no speaker and RCA connected to it, You have a broken amplifier. No more testing or guessing required.
