ok i got 2 12in l7's they are dual 2ohm voice coil i have them ran series paralell so they come out to 2 ohms in a ported box i have a 2000 watt soundstream tarantula 05/06 model that runs 1500watts at 2 ohms hooked up its in a 06 silverado extended cab  i get decent thump for being in a truck but i'm not feelin it since my amp is maxed out at the gain which I know aint right considering if its pushin 1500 to the subs i should get some kinda distortion when its maxed out i have never had this problem b4. i also got a 5 fared cap & 2 batteries installed.  is it cause its in a truck? new amp maybe(kicker zx1500)? someone tell me what i'm doing wrong here

Not necessarily anything "wrong"... If you don't have enough signal to drive the amp to full output, it doesn't matter WHERE your gain is set (which, as I have said MANY times before is NOT a gain control - it's a level matching stage - the gain is fixed by the amplifier internals) you WON'T get distortion - ever. It is also possible that you are getting distortion (which, by the way is clipping, and is a very bad thing to WANT to hear) you just can't hear it... The reason I say it's a bad thing to "want to hear", is because clipping is a bad situation, and you really run an extreme risk of blowing your woofers, if your clipping is severe enough.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
