Hi!
my problem is that i just bought Sony Xplode xm-zr1852 1000w 2/1 channel amp. it has only one knob for level adjustment (which doesnt help alot), and switch for LPF. in the manual it says to "turn the knob clockwise, when the output level of the car audio unit seems low." But on the knob it says that the voltage goes down (down left says 6, down right says 0.3V, and middle says 1).
so my subs running quiet, and instead of feeling bass i hear more "whoooo..." sounds. is there a problem with my connection, or do i need to do something else to actually feel the subs?
If any additional info is needed just ask, ill be glad to post it

I have this exact amp, and only one 12. Do you have a LPF setting on your deck? If so, use it, as it is most likely a steeper crossover slope than what is in the amp. Try both to see which one cuts out more of the high sounds you dislike. Activate the crossover, and then set your gain according to the sticky found here: https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~85479~PN~1
Enjoy!

The numbering is correct on your amp.  The number tells you how  much input voltage is requred to achieve maximum output from the amp.  Gain set to 0.3,   3/10 of one volt will make it produce max output.  Gain set to 6, you will have to drive 6 volts into it to achieve max output.

Do you have a Pioneer Radio?

Is your woofer a single or a dual voice coil?  What is the impedance of the coil(s)?
