First off, Happy New Years Eve.....Second I have searched your forums looking for anything resembling this DVD/CD/AM/FM/Bluetooth Touch screen stereo..(whew..that was a mouthful)and unfortunately found nothing, so I registered on your site (as I was quite impressed with the level of knowledge I found on here)to ask my simple question. I have a 2002 Chevy Silverado C1500 Basic package, and just took out(don't laugh now..lol) a Pioneer DEH-2300. Using the same wiring harness that goes to my truck, I am soldering the wires together, with the exception of the orange wire or dimmer/illumination wire. The wiring harness on the truck does not have an orange wire. So I am in a dilemma, what do I do with the orange wire from my stereo? Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated. you can just cap it off like i always do and just leave it alone. if you really want the dimmer you can hook it up to the red wire with a switch in between so you can dim the screen at will. or you can run it to the light switch and find a wire that shows 12v+ when you turn the lights on in the truck. if you are unsure of how to do any of this or you dont have a voltage meter to check your wires then i would just leave it alone
