subwoofer box dimension needed

hello friends! i have a 12" subwoofer it is around 300 watts and it's 8ohm's . i also have a sony amp 350w for the subwoofer. i want to know the basic box dimensions for the box ,i want the port dimensions too and the location for the port , i tried using softwares for designing a simple box ,but the softwares ask for qs and qts etc which was not provided with this subwoofer and my knowledge on calculating them is not much .so need any one kind enough to let me know the box dimensions and port size and its location .i dont want a bandpass design but a normal basic box design and its dimensions .i want to use this for home use for low frequencies close to 33hertz this is the image of the subwoofer whose box dimensions i need to know this image below is the side view of it the amp image is below and its model is xm-gtx6020 .thanks for the help in advance !:)

hey ! thankz for replying . this subwoofer is a custom made one and it does not have any model number nor anything a branded subwoofer may have .i asked the person who made it ,he told its 300 watts and 8 ohms ,thats it .i know we need the minute details of the sub to make a box for it to avoid loss of sound, but any rough dimensions with the details provided about the subwoofer will work ,will work a lot.thanks:)

Sorry, it doesn't work that way.  So who made this "custom woofer" and what is it made from?

If you want to measure it and get the T/S parameters yourself, it is possible without using overly sophisticated tools.  Check this link.

thanks for the help . but i have been to that link before and the rated amp is not available here . i din get you on "what the sub is made from" i dont no if this is what you wanted to know but the sub is made from a regular subwoofer voice coil nothing special about it.its just a regualr coil like other coils. the cone is a plastic one can u tell me what box dimensions would you use if you had such a horrible sub as mine with such limited details on it .:)

Not sure what you mean, you can use any amplifier you like to test a subwoofer's T/S parameters.  The key is using an accurate volt meter and a good quality test resister.  By "what is it made from" I mean what parts were used to put it together?  Make/model of those parts might help.

Put it in 2 cubic feet and see what happens.

ok so i did as u said to put in 2 cubic feet and there was hardly any bass .so i resized it to 1 cubic feet .it was still sounding a bit bad .so i put a port in it . the port i put was 16cm in length nd 3.5inch in diameter. now what is happening is it is playing good ,most of the songs and bass test track it plays well but still there is a bit loss in the tuning .now when i make the port more than 16 cm long it gives out that sound where the mid freq is produced more and when the low freq base kicks in there is nothing to be herd ,itz just the cone vibrating with no sound effects ,and when i reduce the length there is little lowf req that is produced but it can be noticed that there is a lot of loss of sound but the mid freq is produced less when the port length is less ok so here is the pic of the box roughly equal to or a bit more than 1 cubic feet and ya i called up the sub guy who made this woofer he says he has no idea about all this.he said the coil has no model and is just a coil that is made in china thats all i got from him .hey i didnt know that any amp could be used for finding t/s parameters .so can i use this current sony amp mentioned above ?:)

A custom made woofer with a chinese voice coil sounds a lot like a generic chinese woofer to me.

I would use a 1.58 cubic foot (2744 cubic inches) box with a 3"diameter by 6" length port with poly-fill loosely filled inside the box.Too bad you don't have the t/s parameters. Hope it don't turn out to be a poorly made woofer.jpeterman15
