Alright, I really need some help determining my best option here with these speakers.  Quick background, I had decided to replace all my door speakers in my jetta with the hopes of obtaining some clearer highs and better bass to create better imaging.  I have a 2009 Jetta and the stock speakers consist of a 1"  4" and 6.5" in the front doors, and 1" and 4" in the back doors.  Now, my order is confusing because I had originally thought that the back door had the 6.5" and 4" speakers in the same spots as the front door, just no tweeter.  In reality though its about a 5.25" speaker and a tweeter.  Here are the speakers I bought;

(4) Rockford PPS4-8  thinking that there was enough room in both doors

(4) Rockford T142 to fit in the 4" location

(2) Rockford T1T-S tweeter set to fill the front tweeter location

As I started taking the doors apart (something I'll do BEFORE purchasing in the future) I realized that the 4" speakers I bought do not fit in the front doors where the factory 4" speakers are, and def not in the backdoor where the tweeter was mounted.  So, I ended dropping the 5.25" speaker and putting in the 4" speaker by using a bracket I made out of MDF.  Then I put one of the 8's in the front door same method, but I have to say I do not like how it sounds.  I went back and reviewed the details of my order and I realized what a dumb mistake I made, I'm trying to run these all of my pioneer HU which does not put out enough power for all these speakers.

As it is right now, I have the back right door 4" T142 installed and the front right door the 8" speaker with the rest factory.  The 8 barely moves because of how power hungry it is!  I'm frustrated and my system sounds like trash, and I can't "undo" it because the factory speakers were riveted in and I have no idea how to reinstall them.  I'm trying to decide if I should just install the 4" T142's all the way around and run them all directly off the HU along with my punch P3 12" sub, and see how that goes?  Seriously, I'm stationed overseas and I don't know anybody who I would say is good with car stereos.  Please, somebody throw some advice my way.

Unless you want to spend more money on a proper 3 driver setup, don't waste anymore thought on it. A nice set of componants and a single sub will give you much better sound for the least amount of money. If memory serves, put some 6.5"s in the factory location and tweeters where the factory tweeters go. You can put 5.25s in the back just standard coaxials for rear fill. Run the sub off of an amplifier, or even get a small 5 channel for more sound control.

Something like an Alpine MRX-v70 would work well. You could potentially hook up just the new 4 speakers off the amp and run the other stock stuff off the radio. There isnt a whole lot of benefit to this however.

To master and control electricity is perfection. *evil laugh*
