OK here the deal I'm going to install a iPad mini in a 2010 keep wrangler sport and I looked up the wireling codes and the site has a 08 which is the same. My question is does the wiring harness have a security wire iN the harness. If so how do I bypass it . to my knowledge radios that have security wires that are wired into the car prevents the car from starting or the factory alarm acts up. So basic install is iPad 4 channel amp and blue tooth adapter. As of now its completely stock

well i dont know about security wires on those radios that prevent the car from starting, havent ran into that issue on any dodge, jeep, chrysler vehicles. what i can tell you is that the diagnostic CAN bus system does run through the factory radio and this can bus loop is what sends data from all over the car to the cars computer and diagnostic system. if you just pull the factory radio and hook up the speaker wire for sound without using the CAN bus adapter harness for that jeep then you will lose some diagnostic features and maybe some other features that you might not notice are gone until you have to bring it to the dealership for service. either way, its never a good idea to disconnect the vehicles data loop.
i would buy the PAC C2R-CHY4 so that you dont lose any factory functions .

Thanks I will look intk the harness you suggested. Or I could do a radio relocation I was kind set on pulling it out completely but Dara runs thru it and its gonna cause more problems than good taking it out

Ok i looked at the PAC C2R-CHY4 and I understand how it works but I'm going to rewire the speakers straight to the amp. So if the speaker wires dont have data isnt it possible to leave the radio connected behind the dash. I was going to make a harness for the iPad charging and remote wire for the amp as well.

whatever you want to do. if you want to deal with finding a place to cover up the factory radio and leave it plugged up in a secure location so it cant bounce around then i dont see anything wrong with it. i know that plug isnt cheap but its the better and easier way in my opinion. plus i dont think youll be able to find a spot to keep the factory radio anywhere near the dash, youll have to extend the wire harness probably all the way to the back or maybe under a seat if its not already taken up with other equipment.

You don't have enough, I promise you this, I have done more than my fair share of these vehicles and I promise you that buying the pac piece is the only logical way to go. Also the radio being removed WILL NOT stop the vehicle from running, just will cause bus errors like pointed out by the other guy

I understand what your saying about putting the radio behind the dash . the reason I'm questionin is I'm going to rewire the jeep with a iPad and new speakers I'm not going to be using the factory speakers so its going straight to a 4 channel amp that my reasoning for not wanting the PAC harness and moving it back further or tucking it somewhere in the dash.. I found a video there is a plate behind the radio. I can remover that plate and tuck the radio further in the dash and have the ipad more flush
