sub enclosure type -- posted image. Hi all , im new on here so be gentle .
ive went and done things the wrong way round (as usual) and seen subs bought them and then
thought about how to fit them . I was going for a simple sealed enclosure for my 2 focal 33a 13" 400wrms subs ,
but the thing is in the destructions that come with them it only gives box dimensions for a ported enclosure so im wondering
if i put them in a sealed unit will it damage my new babies? i dont want big boomy bass but tight stuff for quality so a bit confused about where to go from here any ideas appreciated Craig

Hi.  The Focal Access 33a is a relatively new German fiberglass cone woofer designed for a bass-reflex (vented) enclosure of 30 to 45 litres.  It can also be mounted infinite baffle (free-air.)  A sealed anclosure could be designed for it but it will not perform as well as in a vented one.  Here's the Theil Small's for this driver.

fs = 29 hz

Qts = 0.62

Vas = 124 Litres

Xmas = 9 mm

     I ran those specs on WinIsd Pro  and on Blaubox and it seems like a 53 litres enclosure should be fine for them. I say try it and see how they sound.
