where did i go wrong?

ok ive built severall mdf enclosures that have all pounded to my hearts content. so i bought a new car i wanted an enclsure that wouln't affect any of the stock funtions, such as seats folding down and what not. my install location, the center console i built a fibeglass enclosure for a kicker S8L7.      after speaking with local shop i was convinced this would be ideal for my appl. nice range clean sound with a decent spl. so the sub it now in a vented fiberglass ancolsure. nice range. but the spl sucks! is it the sub, power, or enclosure?? please help. im ready to take the hammer to it. the specs: (THESE ARE INTERNALL DIMENSIONS) oh yea i put polyfill in it i was told it would improve range but cause slight spl loss            box:L,24.5" W,11"   D1,5.5" D2,4.75"            VENT:L,2.75"   W,2.5"   H,1.25"            AMP: PUNCH 300S BRIDGED            SUB: KICKER 8" L7 SERIES 2OHM DVCyou can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you cant pick your friends nose!

well, to expect much SPL out of an 8 seems kind of ridiculous...when talking about an 8, SPL isnt a phrase that should even be used... polyfill will make the box seem "bigger" giving you a little more bottom end extension, but with this setup you are not going to lose too much volume...you may want to try a bigger amp to attempt to squeeze a few extra db out of your setup, but at the end of the day, an 8 is an 8, and 8s arent loud...
