First install, first post, surely not my last.

After hearing so many of my friends horrible sounding systems, I have decided to start my 1st from the ground up.  I've got 36sqft of brown bread on the way.  I intend to start off with the four doors, rear deck and front wall of the trunk of my 1997 Crown Vic.  I'll save the remainder for the rest of the trunk, pillars, and where ever else it may need to go.  What I am looking for is those insider tips some of you no doubt have learned the tough way.  What won't the instructions tell me with regard to installing this stuff?

Should I heat the material and the surface? Can you recomended a good surface preparation method (cleaning, sanding, sealing)  Are any surfaces a waste of time to cover?  Common mistakes? How far will 36 sqft get me in a Crown Vic?  I have a roller and intend to use it, any other tool recommendations?

And most importantly, what questions am I forgetting to ask?

I would suggest  dynashield spray, then lay your brown bread.  It's makes far less vibration.

36 sq feet won’t get you too far, I would suggest that you get another 70 sq feet.  I would cover every panel and any thing you could imagine rattling. As far as cleaning and sanding goes if the surface is relatively clean there is no need then there is no need to clean it. I would suggest that you do it on a warm day and leave the role in the sun, it makes it easier to work with. Also I would suggest plenty of utility knives and extra blades as well as another roller (they don’t last for ever) below are some links to pics of one of my installs but I would check out this post https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=10383&KW=brown+bread+

Just to give you an idea. In a 96 S-10 extra cab I have 88 sq. feet of Dyna-mat and Tsunami. Not quit enough to do every sq. inch but I'm getting there... Did in two diff. materials to have my own "road test" on quality. dynamat / brown bread install advice -- posted image.
