Hi, my cd player quit working and I bought a new one today. I am wondering if someone can give me info on how to get the old cd player out. Like what parts do I need to remove and so on. I did buy a dash kit and wiring harness also today.

Also the car came with an alarm, does this make any difference in teh steps I should take?

Thanks you!

A lot of times they will tell you to disconnect the battery's negative terminal before you start taking stuff apart, but since your car has an alarm I'd recommend against that.  You're gonna be using a wiring harness anyways so the risk of an electrical short is very little.

Actually this radio is very easy to remove.  Just pull on the plastic trim bezel that surrounds the radio and climate control assembly.  It's held in with spring clips and should just pop out.  Then the radio will be held in at the top right and bottom left by 3/8" screws.  Also the braided grounding strap will be screwed into the back of the factory radio with another 3/8" screw.

The aftermarket head unit's black ground wire will need to be connected to the braided strap.  There are a couple of ways to do this, but probably the easiest way is to get a wing nut and hex head bolt, and a ring terminal for the ground wire. crimp the ring terminal onto the head unit's ground wire, then stick this ring in between the wing nut ring of the braided grounding strap, and tighten it until it feels like it's secure enough.

All the colors of the wiring harness will just match up with the colors of the head unit's harness.  The kit instructions will tell you how to finish up the install.

Hi, just wanted to say thanks. Did install today and was a breeze, girlfriend really likes the new cd player. The ground wire actually plugged into a peice of metal on the old radio on the back, so i just went and bought a male connected and put it on the end of the ground wire from the new radio and connected them, works fine.
