84 vette bose

HELP!!! I have a 84 vette that has the bose system how do I bypass w/o running new wire?

I haven't specifically done an '84 Corvette, but I've done a couple of newer ones, as well as quite a few other GM cars with Bose. It isn't too hard to do. Buy a regular wire harness adapter to hook up the radio, as usual. Plug the adapter in for a moment, and you'll be able to easily note the color of all the factory speaker wires, just by seeing where they line up with the adapter. Go to the speaker location, and you'll see four wires. The thicker ones are power and ground for the Bose amp; you won't be needing these. The two thinner ones should be the same colors as what you found at the radio location. Simply unplug the Bose amp, and connect your new speaker's wires directly to the two thin wires that you found there. As a matter of good install practice, you should avoid cutting plugs off or otherwise compromising the factory system too much. Just take some insulation off those wires and splice your new ones in......make it so that the Bose stuff can easily be plugged back in if a future owner (or you) wants to restore the car to factory.
