I have a RF 700x (rated at around 900 watts) and two 12" Pioneer VCCS Pro's in my grand cherokee, and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the best settings might be on the amp. It has adjustments for front and rear gain, front and rear crossover frequency(50hz to 210hz), and punch bass adjustments. I have never been able to find a good setting for all 3 of these things, so if anyone could tell me a basic setting for good SQ, even if it's just the crossover frequency, i'd appreciate it. thanks.   -Taylor

youll have to play with the gains to get the amp to work well with your subs, but id say they should probably be around 70-80% or so, set your Xover freq to 80hz and start with around 6 db of punch bass. This should be a good starting point and then tune it to your own personal liking

Since this is a 4-channel amp, are you bridging the front and bridging the rear channels, and then running a sub off each bridged output?  If so, make sure the settings on the amp for the front are the same as the settings for the rear.

First off, make sure that any of the head unit's crossovers or boosters are turned off.  You should make the adjustments at the amp itself.  I'd suggest playing around with a few different kinds of music and adjusting the crossover frequencies between 80-120 Hz and see what sounds best to you in your vehicle.

The exact optimal frequency really depends on many different things, including what type of box you have the subs in, what kind of vehicle you have, and what kind of music you're listening to.  That's why really the best way to do it is just to experiment with different settings.

This document from Rockford Fosgate might give you a few tips on how to properly set the gains for an amplifier.
