I just need to know how to wire it up for 2 ohm operation, because on the back of the sub it has 4 terminals ( two of which have a little dot on them to distinguish them from the other two ) and in the inside of my sub box it only has two terminals to the mounting cup that goes out to the amp.  Thanks for any help

Philip

Do you know how many ohms your sub is or the exact model #?

yes, i found the answer, it is a 2ohm DVC, but my amp can only go down to 2 ohm, and the only way i found to hook up the sub was either 1 ohm or 4 ohm so i just hooked it up for 4 ohm by connecting one positive and one negative from a different coil and running the other two coils to the amp, thx anyways though.

Unfortunately like you said you can only wire a 2 ohm dvc sub into a 1 or 4 ohm load. If you go parallel you will have a 1 ohm load http://www.audiobahninc.com/tech/wiring/parallel_parallel_dual_2.pdf and if you go series you will have a 4 ohm load http://www.audiobahninc.com/tech/wiring/Series_Series_dual_2_ohm.pdf

The only problem with a 4 ohm load is that your amp will most likely put out much less power then if you had a 2 ohm load. What make and model amp do you have?

Did you bridge the sub to 1 channel? Because if you did it will put a 4 ohm bridged load on the amp which is the lowest it can go, and you will get 400X1 @4ohm.
