Hifonics amps....any good?

I am looking for a good bang for the buck sub amp. I have heard in the past that Hifonics are good, but I wanted to hear it from some more people if they are good or bad amps? If you want the best bang for your buck go for JBL you wont find a better quality amp for cheaper http://www.purecaraudio.com/store.asp 

I recently installed a 4 channel crunch amp (which is hifonic's low end line) in a 2001 ford focus.  It's pushing a set of Infinity Kappas quite nicely.  But i wouldn't suggest going with them for a sub amp.  Duane...

I like Hifonics amps.  Their built sturdy and was a good amp for the price.  I dunno about crunch amps being their lower line.  But the hifonics nemesis series was decent for me.

Thanks for the replies so far. I have looked more into the JBL amps on MAN1's advice. I'm thinking about spending the money on their new line. Probably a bpx2200.1 and a bpx600.2. I'm thinking about running a pair of TDX Diamond Audio 15's off the 2200.1 and a set of Pheonix Gold Ti6 comp's off the 600.2. the jbls are solid performers, especially for the dollar they go for... Hifonics has deteriorated in quality recently, and I am not so sure if I would invest in any of their products anymore...alot of their older amps were great amps, a little power hungry, but what do you expect out of a big class a/b amp? as far as Crunch being directly in the same line as Hifonics, its not...they do have a parent company, which also owns other lines that are around, but Crunch and Hifonics arent the same amp in any relation otherwise...they are both part of a conglomeration, but totally separate entities... the TDXs are awesome subs, thats a great choice...but if you are going to spend that much on subs why sell yourself so short on the amps? not saying bad about the jbls, but it would look very funny to see TDXs and jbl powervalves...look at the Diamond d7 or even d5 amps...they are great amps as well... a good alternator is a good idea, but forget the cap...you will be doing more harm than good by installing it...get yourself a solid alternator and you neednt worry about wasting money on a cap...

To Big Purds: Are the Powervalve's the old one's that are all black? I am looking at the new one's that were developed along side Crown.
