Hi All,
I have a defective power antenna on a 94 Lincoln Mark VIII, I would prefer a new universal antenna (cheap) instead of a oem replacement (costly),BUT I have two problems. First is a low voltage power supply(about 5-6 volts) and Secondly there are two(yes, two) power supply wires. One signals antenna to go up, the other sends it down. Any suggestions?
(I'm a newbie, but have a grasp of basic electronics..diodes,relays,etc.)
Thanks in advance for any help on this!

what exactly are you trying to do, im confused, you have a power antenna and are trying to replace it with a stationary antenna? or you have a stationary and are trying to install an power antenna, or what?

The motor has quit and the mast will not go down. I'm hoping someone can suggest a relatively easy fix to use a much cheaper universal power antenna. Metra shows a replacement antenna, it will fit, but this will not work with the factory low voltage double power supply(one for up and one for down)(versus normal single power lead @ 12volt).

You may need to add a low voltage trigger to convert that signal to a 12 volt signal.  Peripheral Electronics has triggers that you may wanna look at.

THANKS for the info!
Would I be able to combine both power supplies to one trigger? If so, would I need a diode on each line to isolate the signals from each line (one signals up, the other down), or is this neccessary?

I think you should be able to combine signals (but someone else in this forum could possibly find out for sure).  If not, you could possibly add the diodes (or maybe a relay)  in between the low volatage signals and the trigger ( I would double check for sure though).    I would start with just the trigger and then if it still stays up then try the diodes.  Good luck.

If all that fails, you may just want to try and find another 94 lincoln.  From what i remember, the town car and continental also used the same antenna.
