About 2 months ago I installed a Kenwood CD/MP3 deck into my 98 contour. Today as I was driving to work the left speakers went out completly front and back. It has worked fine till now and I used adapter cables from Circuit city so no splicing was done and I am using factory wiring. I thought it might be my deck but when I put the factory back in again there was no sound out of the left side. I don't have factory premium sound so there is no amp I would asume the wires go directly from dash to speakers but I am not sure. Any Ideas?

Try cheking the connections in your wiring harness.  Make sure nothing has come loose.  Try swapping the deck outputs (connect the left speakers to the right side) or move one of the left speakers to the right side of the car and see if it might be the speakers.  If the speakers are OK and your connections are all good and tight, it sounds like the left side output amp in your head unit may have gone out.  If it's still under warranty, great, get it replaced.  If not, you may be out of luck and it's new head unit time.
