Everytime I turn my stereo on I blow my fuse on the power cable. I have a Rockford Fosgate 500s amp, 1 farad capacitor, and Polk/Momo MM12 sub. Any ideas? I'm guessing it's the fuse in the amp, but I have a beauty panel that's a pain in the ass to take off, so I want to get some other opinions forst before I do....

You have a dead short in your system somewhere. Start systematically and remove everything from the system that is hooked up to the power wire and work your way up. Whatever component you plug in and blows the fuse, you will find your short. Make sure that you have all wires properly loomed and if you are running any wires through the firwall , make sure that the holes was deburred and a gromet was used to protect the insulation of the wire.

Hmm...That's more work than just checking the amp ;) Is it a POSSIBILITY the amp is bye bye?

That would be the first thing that I would unplug from the system. Check it out and see and if the fuse doesn't pop when you turn on the head unit, then you know it's the amp.
