Where are you getting the RCA's from for plugging into the amp ? Do you have an LOC ? If you retained the OEM radio, you should not have lost anything like door chime or other OEM functions.

what do you mean by loc? i first hooked up the eq to the constant off the factory radio and the ground off the same place and the remote to the power antenna but still with the doors and the rear or the head unit plug the rcas into to the eq from the high to low and get no sound off of my speakers and no chime then i decided to remove the eq and just run it direct from the high to low to my cobalt 260 but when i plug the rcas to the amp the amp now shuts off

The OEM radio doesn't have RCA plugs. An LOC is a line out converter that converts speaker signal to RCA connectors. If the input sensitivity is too high, the amp will shut down to protect itself from shorting out.

And the 2002 Cavalier's radio is part of the car's Class II databus. There is no type of switched power avaialable at the radio.....not key-switched; not power antenna either.

OMG , my friend has the exact car and this model has like half of the electronic functions like door chimes and interior lighting in the friggin deck, so if youre trying to mess with it... DONT , lol, get a pro to do everything, i know i might seem wrong, but think of this.. GM doesnt want you to replace the stereo or even mess with it... so they make it an ass to replace or even mess with, my friend is getting a new deck for his ride and he has mount it in the trunk!!! just becuase it houses so many funcitons for the car!!!
