Dude, what model subs are the Lightning's. Most of these subs slam in small sealed enclosures, however we do have a pair of s3.12.vc2 running in a monster ported enclosure that tips in at 145.6db (2003 vw golf). I personally would have had him into 4 subs and the sealed boxes as they definitely perform better that way. Have a look at the oct/nov 03 mobile entertainment and look at the review of the q-logic sub box. It is either a ported or sealed enclosure that they just happened to test with the brand new Lightning subs. I put two of the s3.12.8 subs in a94 Jimmy with the same amp as you and topped at 139.2 db. Not great for super loud spl, but enough to annoy most people, as a side note it was designed for sq, not spl.

By the way, right now I only have 2 of them in my explorer, not 4 yet so how can I get my 2 to sound the loudest?

Time to put an Eclipse cd player in and watch the magic begin. If you want to run 4 of these subs, you will need another amplifier to properly power them. Right now the biggest gain will come from a cd player, I would recommend the Eclipse CD5423. Make sure you have made your box to the proper volume for these subs (adding in displacement for the sub and braces), for best results, the subs are usually facing the back of the vehicle.
