Usually there is a way to integrate it together, it is usually in the reverse order though, factory deck - aftermarket changer. Now I'm sure some enterprising and excellent installer out ther can do this for you, hell there may even be an adaptor out there somewhere (PAC maybe), but if I was in your choes, that factory changer is probably worth more than an aftermarket, sell that baby off and replace it with a new one or relegate it to the deep dark depths of your garage and install it again when you sell the vehicle.

Did the factory changer work from the factory deck or am I reading your post correctly? How your post reads to me is that you have two different radio systems in the vehicle, one for the front passengers and one for the rear. I the factory changer works off of the factory radio then you do in fact have only one radio / cd system and all passengers listen to the same thing. If you use the fader on the new Alpine does it fade front to rear or is it front only and you have no rear speakers? Now I have not yet seen an 04 Exploder but this would definitely be a first if what you have in fact described is true. Now as far as I have ever installed in any vehicle (exception is an fm mod video system) the radio up front controls all speakers in the vehicle and does not have a redundant system in the rear for the rear passengers. Let us know how the factory system did indeed work.

well the way it is is that there is basically a 2nd controller for the stereo in the back seat... which if you plug headphones in allows you to listen to the same thing as the front or... one of the other stereo options ie cd tape radio... i was just wondering if there was a way to still use the cdchanger with the aftermarket headunit or will it not work

Does not sound like it will work at all. The controls may / may not be present at the headphone jacks. I have nver seen cd changer controls in any place other thatn the factory head unit or wired to the factory headunit from the steering wheel. If you do have cd controls at your headphone jacks, chances are that they are wired to the factory head unit.

Most adaptors work from factory deck to aftermarket changer not in the reverse order. Does this mean that someone like PAC would make one, well maybe someone does, I have never seen one though. To answer the question, I do not think that you can use the changer with your new head, maybe someone out there can prove me wrong.

Not to mention, if you dump the factory radio the rear seat controls will probably not work. The only adapter that I know of that went from an aftermarket radio to a factory changer was for honda.
