For me personally there would be no competition.  Eclipse beats Pioneer hands down, so that would be my choice.  If flashy displays are more important to you than sound quality, however, the Pioneer gives you more of that.

If there is no retailer in your area (which I find surprising; where are you located?) you can buy on line at any number of places, such as: http://www.acaraudio.com/ or even on eBay.

Or email Chuck  HERE and see what kind of price he can give you.

Go with the Eclipse, it is an amazing cd player, not build for show, it's built for go, send Eclipse an e-mail, found at www.eclipse-web.com  to find a local dealer for you. Eclipse has an extremely strict policy of absolutely no internet sales, dealers are actually not even allowed to advertise on their own web pages about pricing. Any bozo with a computer can post up a price and tell you what you want to hear, but the fact and cold hard truth is, Eclipse must be purchased at an authorized retailer. They have numerous methods of controlling their product and if warranty is important for you, the only way to have the 3 year warranty from Eclipse as well as the free replacement if it is stolen, is to purchase from the authorized retailer. Enjoy your tunes.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

I JUST got my 15 aluminum eclipse sub from acaraudio. They have good prices but it took literally a month to get it. I love etronics.com. See if they have that eclipse headunit.
