ARGH.  I hate that high pitched "whizzing/whining" noise when you have the head unit on.  I have a vehicle power inverter, and whenever it's on, I get that noise.  I forgot the name....ground isolator?  Please help me.  Thank you in advance for your time.

I had the same problem in my car and the only thing that worked was moving the inverter away from the head unit with an extension.

Reeceddogg is correct in terms of the simple solution. The invertor needs to be relocated as far away as possible.
The AC power that is being generated from the invertor is being allowed to leak out. The excessive EMI / RFI is being radiated out, and inducing other wiring within your vehicle.
That is why some brands cost alot more than others, given the same STATED power output. What they lack is proprer shielding in the casing, and negative feed-back generation to reduce the amount of hum / noise coming off of the unit.

It's a vector.  I bought one from Costco, a coleman one and that thing sucked.  trying to watch a dvd on the laptop and we had an fm modulator to have in "stereo"  and it had so much ground noise.  the vector one wasn't that bad, that's why I kept it.  So there is no such device I can put on the head unit to stop it?
