I am going to install a head unit, amp, and subs in a friends 03 Galant this weekend. I was wondering if anyone who has done an install in one has found anything unexpected or any problems? It has no premium sound system so I don't think it has a factory  amp, but I will be using the factory speaker wire with the factory speakers for the time being.

TIA for any help

Sorry I can't help you, Mitsubishi cars are rare around out parts, a F350 though, different story

Thanks Forbidden. I'm still waiting for my new head unit to arrive for my ride. It'll be here on monday. What kind of resistor would I need to splice in my brake line if I can't get rid of the pop noise from stepping on brake?

Not a resistor, a cap. I don't think it will or should be an issue with the new deck. (crosses fingers)

Cake walk. Take the dash bezel off, lower the ac controls, there will be 1 screw at the back of the radio, then lift the tabs out of the front of the radio and it will slide right out. There is a spot on the driver's side firwall that you can drill out easily, clutch pop-out. Then everything else is simple.
