94 Accord EX System install

After much procrastination I went out and got subs and an amp (Dual XB 210D and Rockford P3001) and was wondering about a few things...

- The amp comes with an outside control that you mount for easy control access. I'm installing a head unit that I am told is capable of controlling sub output (Sony CDX-M620) the same day as the subs. If it does indeed have this capability, is the remote control for the amp still required?

- Exactly what kind of wiring would you suggest? I've heard that simple 12 guage wiring is enough to power the system, and I've heard that anything less than the recommended guage is going to ruin the system. How many sets of wiring will I need? Is it just for the amp, or do I need another set for the subs?

- This is my first system (as you could probably tell from my questions) and I'd like to hear any opinions on what I purchased. I know the subs aren't of the greatest calibur, but I plan to replace those relatively quick. I've heard positive things about the Punch Series from Rockford, but no specific reviews on the P3001. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

- The installation procedure is pretty much covered in the amp's manuel, but is there anything I should know about installing it in a 94 Accord EX that wouldn't be covered?

Thanks in advance for your time. I've searched the site but haven't found much that would answer my questions. Again, this is my first system, so keep in mind that I'm by no means an expert. As you probably concluded from my post, I'm doing this installation by myself, and perhaps I'm being a little too cautious, but I really would prefer to *not* botch the installation. ;)

what they are talking about is a non-fading output (also known a sub output) its a set of rca's that you run to your amp, and which in able you to control the amps bass and not the mids, so that way when you turn the bass up on your subs, your mids will not be affected, But you will want to hook up what is your bass remote which controls the level of your amp some what, its a bass boost, I dont suggest just turning it all the way up though...depending on how you have your bass remote gain set at....

I would suggest a 10awg if not 8 awg, this will be for your amp's power and ground, a set of rca's to run from your HU (sub output) to your amps input, also you will need to run a remote wire from your HU to your amp...

and also some 12-14awg speaker wire to run from your amp to your sub(s)

you will also need to fuse your power cable close to the battery as possible within about a foot or closer.....

its not safe to wire a amp with to small of wire, it can cause problems for your amp and also could start a fire possibly....

Opinions ,hummm well thats a touch subject sometimes, but as for the RF amp, I think thats a good amp...as for the     Dual XB 210D    Im not too sure I dont know who makes them and have not heard much about them..

Well, I have the subs and amp both. The subs were a good deal because they came in a bandpass box, and coast $70 w/ the box. If they blow, I'll gladly replace them with better quality woofers. I believe Dual subs are made by Namsung. I heard the subs paired with the P3001 at the store, and they didn't sound half bad, what with this being my first system and all. Thanks for the help on wiring, I *greatly* appreciate it. I'll be sure to post a review of the subs, since I too have been looking all over the place for opinions and haven't found any.
