I am wanting to know with out going to a site of any sort how do you guys determine the determine the ohm load?

thanks and I hope this question is OK to ask

there are mathmatical equations to determine this. it is simplified in the parallel and series section on this page

but can you tell me what the ohm load of a setup with 5dvc 4ohm is?

if so can you explain how you figured it out (without looking at a chart or forumla)

you are the best thanks

I am a girl too so Im not the best at this I understand alittle but I would like to know how to figure it out with out a equation (in my Head)

thank you Mobile 1

you need to know the load of the sub's or speaker's voice coil or coils. if you run a direct line from one voice coil to the amp of h/u the ohm loador impedence is that of the voice coil. if you run a series circuit during the wire run to the amp you effectively half the impedence (raise the number by multipuls of two for every series circuit) when you run a parallel circuit in the wire run from the voice coils to the amp or h/u you effectively raise the impedence (divide the original voice coil's impedence by 2)

you asked for the impedence of 5 4ohm dvc, i assume you are refering to subs.  you need to tell or depect how you wired the voice coils. you could have the subs wired any where from .4 ohms if you ran it all in parallel to 40 ohms if you ran them all in series. if you elaborate on how you wired the speakers i can help you further.
imo. being a female is no excuse for anything.

lets try it with 4 4ohm svc = 1ohm load

4 4dvc=2

but now then 5 how are you going to get that answer???

from those anwsers you have everything run in parallel, is this for an actual setup or just hypothetical. if an actual set up i could help you alot more if you gave me the desired ohm load, or the load your amp is stable at.

hypothetical if thats ok,

I understand that a amp is stable at certain ohm loads, this maybe be a dumb thing to be asking but I am just racking my brain trying to figure out the ohm load of any given setup,

other than your basic setups if you know where I am coming from

thanks for taking your time to help me Ketel

Ketel is this a dumb thing to be asking?

do you have too memorize everything in order to be able to come up with a ohm load for any certain setup, or like say for yourself does it take a second or two to come up with a ohm load if asked in person?
