Hey everyone,

I'm planning on purchasing two 12'' Earthquake Magma subwoofers. They have dual voice coils that run at 3.2 ohms each @ 500wrms. The max power that these subs put out is 1,000 watts a piece. Now what I'm what to do is have an amp for each sub. The problem is that I don't know how to set up properly. I don't want to run both subs to one amp to get the max power rating out of all of them, unless this is the ONLY way that I can do this. I also want an Earthquake amp. Now choosing the amp is my concern here. If you take a look here at earthquake's site with their selection of amps either the two channels or the competition amps are what I'm looking for. http://www.earthquakesound.com/prod01.htm

Can someone help me out to tell me which amp would work best for these subs to deliver the 1,000 watts that I need to each sub and how to configure it? Still trying to learn the ohms law. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

2 of the competition 1500 W or 3000 W max ought to do the trick, but then again, money must be no object :). I have never used Earthquake, (didn't volcano get bought out by them).

Ohms law is really easy...

V = IR

voltage = current X resistance. Very simple stuff, read all of the tutorials listed on this website to give yourself background information. You will have a hard time getting the necessary power to run the amplifiers for your subs if you go with this setup you have mentioned. You should consider getting caps and alt power supplies to run the system. Autobauhn makes a real good one, I am not positive if Earthquake does or not. Let me know if you have any specific theory questions.
