 I have a Panasonic CQ-DF-975 CD player, which is powering an EQS- and Two AutoTek amps. I wired a relay from the remote wire to power these 3 other components, but it keeps clipping, I get 12 volts from Bat, and ground, and 12 volts when remote is on..Could it be an un-stable ground or head Unit is going out????

What is clipping, the amplifiers?  Your input gain is too high or your speaker impedence is too low.  If the amplifier is clipping it has nothing to do with the remote on wire...

The Amps shut down, I can turn off my stereo, and it will play for a while then clip again, I checked the impedence on my speakers, all is good ...

Then I suspect your gain is set incorrectly.  Do a search on this forum for gain setting instructions.

The gain on the Amps is not even set half way. It's maybe a 1/4 way up.

That could be too high.  What about the gain on the EQ? Also, what model Autotek amps and what speakers are on them?  What EQs are you running?

 I haven't changed any of my settings, same with my EQS, all I did was change from 15"  Diamond  to 10' DVC 2 ohm wired at 4 ohm Diamond M6 I am going to strip it down tonight, Thanks for all the help. I can let you know what I find if you like, I have an crossfire eq with a delyed remote turn off and on, going to wire that up and see what happens..Again thanks for the help

Ah, so you changed something when the problem began.  WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO?  Always start with what you changed last.  I suspect that either the sub is actually wired in parallel and the impedence is too low or you'll find a hookup problem.  So do you have two woofers since you say you have two amps?

Is one amp shutting down or the whole system. If it is only one amp then I suspect the load on that amp is sending the amp into protection. If all 3 pieces are shutting down, then it is the relay or it's wiring configuration.

 I hope I have the problem, I wired Two seperate relays to control each amp. I by-passed one relay, and it seems the problem has stopped "I hope" Testing it now to see. I really don't understand why wiring two different relays would cause this problem...but as long as it works properly right ????Thanks for all the support!
