i'm setting up my system w/the diamond audio s600s and the m361i for the rear. i could run the m361i to the crossover, or i could use the alpine 9835 hu to power the m361i. my quest. is whether or not by running the rears off the hu will compromise the sound quality even if i use the hp filter, or would it be better to run the rear off the crossovers. btw, i'll be using a jl audio 300/4 bridged. thanks in advance.

You're compromising the sound quality more by bridging the four channel amp to make the fronts louder. Why aren't you using the four channels for the four components?

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Yes, Stevdart is right you should use your 4-channel amp as a 4-channel amp. But beyond that I have no idea what you are asking. What crossover?

The Diamond crossover has a an extra speaker hookup for rear fill. It basically attenuates the driver hooked up to it by -10db. I don't know what this does to the load the amplifier sees.

Regardless, I'd follow stevdart and DYohn's advice and run your amplifier as a 4-channel amp. Use 2 channels from the amplifier to run the rear drivers. Turn down the gain to attain the same effect as the Diamond attenuation.

thanks for the tips, i wasn't aware that bridging would degrade the sq.
