I am running a Memphis MC250D amp to two kenwood 6x9 140W max speakers. How should I set the amp?? Their is a gain, LPF and subsonic filter controls. I know this amp is pretty powerful, and I dont want to blow the speakers. Also, I might be adding another set of speakers to the amp in the near future.

isn't the MC250D a class D subwoofer amplifier?

I'm not certain but if it is, you DON'T want to be running little 6x9's off it.

Yes, it is. Ditto the above advice... unless your 6X9's are subs. I know Onkyo and Madisound make 6X9 subs....

I was wondering if it was myself, I bought it used so I didnt know anything about it. My other amp, the one running my subs right now is a power acoustik PA2-520 power series. Should I use that for the speakers instead?? Or maybe hook one amp up to each of my subs(Orion C12 4 Ohm DVC) and just buy another smaller amp for the speakers?

Use the Memphis for your subs, sell the Power Ass-coustic on eBay and get yourself a good full-range amp for your mains.

I shouldnt have any problem selling either amp. I bought both at a flea market, the PA for $60 and the Memphis for $35. I sort of wanted to get something more powerful for my subs though, they are 200rms, 400max and I have two of them, so I was thinking a amp that puts out around 400-500 watts. Will that be a big improvment over the memphis, which is 250?

If the Memphis is 250rms @ 4ohms then it should be 500 or so at 2 ohms. Wire your subs parallel to get the 2 ohm load (making the assumption that you are using two SVC 4 ohm subs). Move the PA up to component duty and give it a listen. My bet is you'll not have any complaints with the PA running the 6x9's. Xover the 6x9's (highpass) anywhere from 60hz to 100, depending on how powerful the amp is, the music you listen to, and how steep the slope of your xover is.

The subs are 4 ohm, but im not sure if they are DVC or SVC. I had to run a wire to + and - terminals on each sides of the sub. Does this mean they are SVC? If they are what is the best way to hook them to the amp, its 250rmsx1 @ 2Ohms.
