Speaker Rattle, Monsoon

Rear side panel speaker in 97 Firebird with Monsoon started to rattle/vibrate like it might be a blown speaker. These are dual voice coil woofers that apparently receive bass only?? frequency. When I disconnect it however, I notice lesser amount but still distortion on the other left side speaker. So it seems it might not be a speaker problem? With both woofers disconnected, the system works fine--but of course without the bass. What do you experts suspect--a "bad channel" for bass?? Is this a problem in the head unit or does the bass signal come from monsoon amp?? I notice from searches on the site that the monsoon seems to be "problematic." I have little knowledge of this but would like to find a simple solution. Thanks for any suggestions folks

You don't have a bass boost engaged, do you?Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Get another speaker to test with.Certified Security Specialist
