There are lots of decks with a line (or "AUX") input.  Kenwood makes an adapter, part number CA-C1AUX that might work with your KDC-519.

You will need the PAC ABGM-12 for the 04 Alero as the wire harness interface + the AUX-POD.

Universal Auxiliary Audio Input.

The AUX-BOX comes with 1 auxiliary audio input. Just choose the correct vehicle harness for a complete interface. Application guide.
Basic Application Guide: Acura, Audi, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Eagle, Ford, GMC, Honda, Hummer, Isuzu, Jeep, Lincoln, Mercury, Oldsmobile, Plymouth, Saturn, Scion, Toyota and VW.

Note: The AUX-BOX will only work stand alone. If the vehicle has a separate CD changer, XM or cassette player, it will have to be disconnected in order for the AUX-BOX to work. Exceptions are for 2003-2004 GM vehicles without XM, the AUX-BOX will work together with the factory 6 disc CD changer.

ascertain which model of head unit you have in the Alero.... this can be done with a Tech II scan tool.....if the model you have in there has an aux input on it you simply have to buy the appropriate Aux in adapter...similar to PIE's GM12-Aux.....

just a thought....
