Remote Wire

Does anyone know what color the remote wire is on a 99 silverado??? I cant find it anywhere.

Do you mean from the factory head unit? It probly doesnt have one. If you need a remote wire to run for amps or somthing off the factory deck , you can run the remote to a spare spot at the fuse block to a "switched" or acc. 12v spot using a spade terminal.

Hey Korndogg,

I believe a the switch 12 volt wire on this car is yellow behind the HU. I agree with Rushman as it would be easier to use a spade terminal to get it off the fuse block.

well the wierd thing is....i got the wiring diagram from here and it said one of the speaker wires is yellow...and then it also says the 12v wire is also yellow?

the speaker wire should have a trace line of another color on it while the 12v wire is solid yellow.

try one...and if it doesn't work...try the other...worst case scenario is that you will blow a fuse...not likely though unless your rear driver side speaker is blown...once again you will not hurt the speaker or the deck if you accidentally hook it up to the rear driver - spkr wire...

well i hooked it up to the yellow wire and blew a fuse...so i have no idea...i might just run the remote to the fuse box.

there is no other yellow wire.
