Alright guys I just want to get your opinions. Right now I have two fosgate 12's in the trunk that I just made a custom box for. I am getting the new alpine head unit with the ipod interface box right after christmas. I was also looking at getting new speakers right after that. I'm not going to be putting these on a amp, also on the 6x9's i'm not worried about how low they hang because im about to do the diy trunk shocks and remove the springs. Also I want the door speakers to fit w/o much modification if possible. I'm not too worried about money I want something that sounds awesome. I want component speakers instead of those crappy 2 and 3 way things. So in your opinion what is the best sounding door speakers and new 6x9's?
thanks for the help guys,

well if you are looking for good sound. I would say scrap the 6x9s     you already have your low bass from subs correct?    so your looking for mids and highs, concentrat on your front stage the most.    look into a set of alpine type r's I think they are really about the best bang for the buck.   You could go with a set of type s co-ax speakers in the rear

One guys said just get rid of the rear speakers remove them so the bass could come through real well.  Then replace the front with a set of koda 6.1 component system, what about those?

Which would be better the alpine type r's or the kodas?

Totally forget new 6x9's. Complete waste of money if you already have some, imo. By far the most music will come from the mains. These will be the most important. Look at the usual range of quality brands. Go to your local car audio store that carries decent stuff. Demo.
I would follow the advice of "one guy" and forget the rear speakers. I haven't been running rears for years and haven't missed them. Some people like them.. you decide.
The kodas will kick the crap out of the type r's.
