OnStar mutes the radio via the class II buss.... what is it exactly you are trying to achieve?

I have a customer with a cellport300 vr and they want to mute the radio. The kit has a (-) neg out.

just want to mute the radio, but if I need a precission, or blitzsafe piece thats cost in 60 bucks or up, its not worth it. I just wanted to know if there was a wire.

Just a thought. can I relay the output of the kit to ignition on the radio and interupt it? will this cause problems with the databus? I know that the key chimes come through the radio as well.

Soundgate makes a harness for hands free kits, i think it retails for about 24 bucks or so. It plugs between the radio and the OnStar harness, and then gives you pigtails for audio and neg. mute trip for the hands free kit. If the vehicle does have Onstar you will need two relays to isolate the audio inputs of the Onstar and the handsfree kit, pretty simple to do.
