Hi,

Is it necessary to use ring and spade connectors when connecting the power & speaker wires to the amp's terminals?  And if so, is it better to use spade or ring, gold or silver, or does it not really matter?

Thanks!

I don't guess it's necessary but it makes it look better. I shouldn't matter if there gold or silver, ring or spade, though the most commonly used would probly be gold spade.

It really depends on the amp sometimes. I have a older Power Acoustik amp that has worn out connectors that werent that good to begin with. Its difficut to fit 8 G wire into them, so I used spades for the power and ground. But my JBL amp, and the Memphis I had before had enough space to fit the whole wire with no problem, and so no bare wire was visible, therefore spades werent nessecary.
