Im wondering what should I do if the remote lead doesn't work? I have an equalizer and two amps and they wont turn on. I found a remote wire connected to one of the amps was split in half. So I reconnect it and it still doesnt work. Can you tell what had happen?

Use the power antenna lead and if you do not have one of these, use the switched ignition wire.

If you are a little leary about wasting time and findoing out it still doesn't turn on, what you can do is get a smal 3" piece of wire and jump the remote terminal to the 12 volt constant terminal. The amp should respond and the light should turn on as well. You can do this with the system on so that when you jump it, the amp will power the speakers that are attached to it. If it does then use the antenna lead or ignition lead as you new turn on wire.

watch that antenna lead though.. some newer radios turn off the antenna output when you go to CD.. had one of my installers actuallly troubleshoot that in a BMW using the factory amp for an hour before he decided to ask me.. when you play the tuner, it plays fine.. put in a CD and no audio.. go figure.. turning off the amps have a tendency to do that..
