Hi everyone,
I'm only a part time installer, so I want some tools that are dependable but won't hurt my pockets. I'm currently looking for a router and a table saw. I most probably will go to Home Depot, or Lowe's if it is cheaper.
But what I want to know if there are particular brands/models that anyone would suggest that are inexpensive, and pretty good quality.
Thanks,
Mark

Some times you can find nice tools at a very good price at a pawn shop. As far as brands go Craftsman is good. DeWalt, skil, black and decker all will work well. rotozips are cool too.

Wow I never thought of that, thanks a lot. I will have to go to one next week. I forgot about craftsman too. They do make pretty good tools.

Make sure that whatever table saw you buy, the fence can't stray from parallel with the blade.  At work we have a Ryobi which I really don't like.  There is a little play when adjusting the fence, and I end up with non-square cuts because of it.  The previous shop I worked at had a Dewalt that was a MUCH better design.

As for routers, I recommend looking for a plunge router, and purchase a perfect circle along with it.
