My car is 1997 Honda Accord LX, the factory radio has an M-BUS (8-PIN round) CD-changer plug-in.

I wonder if this M-BUS plug in on my head unit is versatile-link ready?

Or can I simple feed an Aux input to the L-CH, R-CH, S-GND pin, without connecting a CD changer?

You know, I want to just make use of that 3 input pins to feed my external mp3 player's sound into my car stereo system.

Is that possible?

From a similar posting - see http://www.geocities.com/blhobbs.rm/Mazda_stereo.html

Seems we are all frustrated trying to use auxilalry inputs that are there but we can't use cause we don't have the tech data and the change input functions. The site above is for another unit but you will find a sucess story on reverse enginnering. Working on a Honda OEM myself - just got started so I have nothing further to add.
