I was wondering if anyone knew if the Sony cdx-m630 can control the Sony xt-xm1? If so then how? Does it use the Aux channel or does it use a separate channel?

It is XM ready and (should) hook up using the Unilink cable supplied with the Sony XM tuner when purchased.  Unilink is all daisy chain.  Hook up the unilink from the Sony changer into the XM and out from the XM to your Sony CDX.

XM Satellite Radio Controls: This unit can control an optional Sony XM tuner (sold separately).

Auxiliary Input: Stereo RCA preamp inputs on back of the unit allow you to connect a portable audio source. These inputs are also used as the Bus Audio In when connecting a compatible Sony changer. When a compatible changer is connected to this unit, you cannot connect an auxiliary source.

ok.. when selecting XM with the source button does it go to "XM Tuner" (like my Pioneer DEH-P8400MP) or does it use Aux? It doesn't seem like the Aux will let you switch chanells or show any XM information.

Not familiar with the head unit but if it is XM ready, then you would shuffle through the source selection til you reach XM and you will have a character display.  I think you luck out with this head unit.  I think it supports scrolling!  Check it out.
