center channel off f/l+ f/r- of deck

Someone told me that you could run a center channle off your deck using one +/- from each the front and right speakers of the deck..but it sounds kinds fishy..anyway to do a center channle off the deck that will give you true center channle sound? thanks!jl audio..nuff said

Hmm.... I know we used to entertain ourselves by listening to things on the test bench using a kind of a L minus R signal off a CD player. I think it was wire up L+R with one flipped polarity wise, and use that signal to whatever amp we were testing. As to using the speaker outputs of a deck, I would be pretty hesitant without seeing how the output IC of the deck liked seeing channels of itself connected to one another. If anything, you could probably parasite the center channel off of the 2 front + leads through a cap that would give you roughly a 400Hz or so Highpass....
